Preservation Maryland will recognize Sprigg Lynn of Washington, D.C.-based Universal Floors, Inc with a 2026 Preservation Artisan Award for his 40-plus years of craftsmanship, leadership and dedication to educating the next generation of hardwood floor craftspeople in historic restoration and preservation.
Lynn has led hundreds of historical flooring renovations in the D.C. metropolitan area, including at the Daughters of the American Revolution Memorial Continental Hall, St. Alban’s School, and, one of the most challenging jobs he said he’s undertaken, the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium.
Lynn will be presented with the award at a ceremony on Oct. 15 in Baltimore, Md.
