Construction spending in October fell 0.8% from September to $1.29 trillion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported. Overall construction spending was up 1.1% compared with October 2018.
Residential construction spending dipped 0.9% and nonresidential construction spending fell 0.7% in October. Total private construction spending fell 1.0% from September and dropped 1.8% year-over-year, while total public construction spending fell 0.2% and grew 10.2% year-over-year.
