The Hardwood Federation concluded its annual Fly-In to Washington, D.C., held Sept. 11–13, during which it hosted a record number of hardwood executives, with more than 80 participating.
During the Fly-In, the members of the federation met with members of Congress and the Trump administration regarding federal issues impacting their companies. They participated in more than 120 meetings on the Hill and met with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, as well as senior staff and advisors of U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and Vice President Mike Pence.
Among the topics discussed were concerns regarding the ongoing trade dispute with China, and the negative impacts retaliatory tariffs from China are having on U.S. hardwood companies.
We were so sorry to hear about the tragedy Monday with Ronnie. We are writing a small piece about the incident and I was wondering if there was anyone at the company who might be able to give a comment or a quote about Ronnie and his work at the company.
