McMinnville Manufacturing, Longtime NOFMA Manufacturer, Closes Doors

McMinnville Manufacturing Company (McMinnville, Tenn.) stopped operations on April 18.

The closure affects 42 employees. McMinnville produced NOFMA-certified flooring and offered red oak, white oak, hickory and hard maple.

The company originally began operations as a sawmill in the late 1800s and had been manufacturing wood flooring since 1912. It was the oldest company in operation in Warren County, Tenn.

"Overall market conditions and the reinvestment in plant and equipment needed to remain competitive were primary reasons for our decision," Owner Jeff Mellencamp said in an email to Wood Floor Business.
