Here’s another hardwood floor selling point for customers—the average return on investment for homeowners who install hardwood flooring is 70–80 percent, according to Realtor.com.
Hardwood flooring can add up to 2.5 percent of the sale price of a home, the report said.
The figures taken together offer a strong argument that hardwood flooring, despite its higher cost per square foot as compared with other floor coverings, is worth the investment.
“… You must take into consideration the fact that these floors can outlive you,” Kimberly Villa, marketing manager for Kaminskiy Design and Remodeling in San Diego, Calif., told Realtor.com. “They will also increase the market value of your home quite a bit. Old carpets can be a major eyesore and can really turn a home buyer off. They can also negatively impact those who have allergies. Invest in hardwood flooring now, and reap the benefits for decades to come.”
