The ad features two men sitting on a couch watching TV, when the homeowner asks his friend if he knows any good contractors. When the friend responds that he does, the homeowner begins an onslaught of further requests from the friend, including a series of quotes, reviews, credential verification and scheduling an appointment with the best contractor.
While the friend appears overwhelmed by the requests, the commercial highlights them as all readily available through the HomeAdvisor platform.
“You can’t expect your neighbors to do everything HomeAdvisor can,” the ad states.
The commercial ran three times nationally just before the Super Bowl and ran during the third and fourth quarters of the game in the Denver Market and later during a special Super Bowl episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, according to The Denver Post.
The online contractor referral company declined to reveal how much it spent on the commercial’s time slot, the Post reported. A 30-second national spot during this year’s Super Bowl cost an estimated $5.25 million, according to CNBC.
