Wood Floor Pro Found Shot in Apparent Murder-Suicide; Wife Had Been Accused of Sex Crimes

A Huntersville, N.C.-based wood flooring pro and his wife, a teacher recently accused of having sex with a student, were discovered dead in their home from gunshot wounds Nov. 6, WLBT reports. Police said Friday the wife, Emma Ogle, shot and killed husband Michael Ogle before turning the gun on herself.

A family member arrived at the home Nov. 6 after Michael Ogle, 59, the president of Ogle’s Hardwood Flooring, failed to show up to work. The family member contacted police and reported seeing Emma Ogle, 63, inside with a gun and that Michael Ogle was dead inside the home. Unable to make contact with Emma Ogle, a SWAT team entered the home to find both Emma and Michael Ogle dead with gunshot wounds.

Emma Ogle was a teacher at Garinger High School and was under investigation after being charged with “having sex with a student,” “crimes against nature with a student” and “felony indecent liberties with a student,” according to Fox 6 Now. She had been suspended from the school with pay and bonded out of jail.

Michael Ogle was a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division and had worked in hardwood flooring for more than 20 years, according to the company’s website.
