We got stain on the steps today and if I say so myself, they look good. The homeowner will see them late tonight, as they are getting back from a long weekend trip about 10 p.m. tonight. I'm going to put on first coat of poly, then back to the gym floor.

The gym floor has made life fun-the plywood is a mess because they did not install the plastic correctly, so the plywood is rotten to the core. We had to take the saw and cut out the flooring and subfloor to get it right. We made a big mess, but before we left it was all good. I will pick up new ply in the morning and start the install so we can get this done before the weekend. There is some kind of kickoff fundraiser for the team and they would like to use the gym. I think we can do it; it is 500 feet of glue-down on two plywood sheets. The rubber pads are still good, so we are going to re-use them. It seems funny working in the high school...it was not that long ago I was in school. 1980 was just a few weeks back, right?
Looking ahead we have 800 feet of install and sand & finish plus 600 feet of cork to install and poly one coat. Thank God we have work! I just wish the guys who try to undercut folks would wake up and smell the real world. Oh well, just move forward. Like Sprigg said, the workmanship will win in the long run.
