The winter just keeps us slow-6 more inches today.
I had to drive to Jackson, TN, to look at a floor we did two years ago. A bad crack in the earth allowed a ton of water to roll under the house and, yes, the floor cupped. It is mixed 3" and 2¼" ash with a light stain. It was a great-looking floor when we left- very flat and not a scratch in it. They were as upset as I was; the floor was sweet. The good news for us is they called us back to repair the floor. We are about an hour and a half drive away, but we are the best crew for the job ... in my mind. They were happy with us the first time, so I know she will like it again. There was nothing but snow for the drive home. What should have been 1 1/2 hours became three long, slow hours.
The snow screwed up the plans for today. Joey got a call that his wife had car trouble, so he needed to go help her, and both of my kids had a hard time with it all. The roads were a mess, so Dad went to pick them up. So, we did not get any floor laid today, but I was able to help Jeff with a little tile work. Please give us a warm spell so we can work; Old Man Winter, you could be nicer. I am looking forward to the rest of the week, and we will get the work done.
I have been asked to give a response on the forum about "wave" and how it all comes into play. I will do that, but I want to take some time to think about each point and lay it out as best as I can. So please be understanding and know I will not let it go. In the meantime, I want you all to start thinking in terms of a stone being dropped into a bucket of water… the way it starts the reaction of the water. Once I get to sit down and share my ideas, that water in the bucket will start to make things clear.
