Ho Ho Ho and Happy Holidays to all. I had a great Christmas. All three kids made it home. And Santa brought me a new moisture meter.
It was the first white Christmas I have had since I was 12 years old. It started snowing Christmas Eve, and we had two inches by morning. I drove the car to town to help serve meals from 10 to 4, and when I left, there was 6 inches of snow on the roads. I am 5 miles down a secondary road in the mountains. The car made it a mile, and couldn't make some uphill curves. We slid backwards to the opposite curb, where there is a nice drop off. I decided not to push my luck and called it quits, and the 4-mile walk home was beautiful.
Then while plowing the foot of snow we ended up with, I got the tractor stuck. But a come-along and chain got me back in business. Now the wind has undone all my work. I heard the plow last night, so maybe I can get the car back home today.
The horses love the snow. The birds are happy when the feeders are full. Today's sunny and beautiful. I know it's not the new year yet, but I am counting this as a great start anyway. I hope everyone has a great new year.
