For nearly a decade, Italian stone and tile designer Giovanni Barbieri wanted to bring a fresh design to the hardwood flooring market by way of a non-repetitive, grandiose pattern that maintained a standard production process. Barbieri broke into the wood flooring industry by crafting “Blooming,” a floral pattern that changes with every bloom.

“It was a big challenge for me,” Barbieri says. “The wood floor sector was a new world for me.” Years of research led Barbieri to discover the “rhythmic” pattern that can be achieved by installing four unique shapes in a random pattern to generate a non-repetitive design that blossoms throughout a room.

Depending on personal taste, the design can be applied with a uniform shade of oak or four nuanced shades can be combined to create two different oak bouquets across the floor. The collection is made of engineered wood.

Having successfully brought his wooden design to life, Barbieri is now glued to wood floors and plans to continue creating floor designs. “I want to help the wood industry evolve,” Barbieri says.
