Spiced Honey has been named the AkzoNobel Color of the Year 2019, following research into global trends and consumer behavior.
“It’s a color that can be calming or nourishing, stimulating and energizing, depending on the light and colors surrounding it,” said Heleen van Gent, creative director of AkzoNobel’s Global Aesthetic Center, who went on to state that the latest trend research found “a renewed sense of energy, optimism and purpose” around the world.
The color is currently being marketed by paint bands such as Dulux, Coral, Levis and Flexa, according to AkzoNobel. While the AkzoNobel’s wood coatings business in North America does not have a commercial wood floor stain called “Spiced Honey,” the company, distributing under the brand name Chemcraft, said it works with its customers to create it on request.
Spiced Honey replaces AkzoNobel’s 2018 incumbent “Heart Wood” as color of the year.
