Somerset Expanding Manufacturing Facility

Somerset Wood Products (Somerset, Ky.) is expanding its Crossville Hardwoods facility in Crossville, Tenn., due to increased customer demand for the company's prefinished and unfinished engineered flooring, according to the Crossville Chronicle. The expansion will add 25 jobs to the local economy immediately, with the goal of adding 125 additional employees in the next two years, market permitting. "The Crossville expansion will enable us to meet our customers' growing product needs, make more efficient use of our facilities and the available work force, and keep jobs at home in the U.S.," Stephen D. Merrick, president of Somerset Wood Products, told the Chronicle. Somerset first purchased the Crossville facility in 2008.
