Inspectors to Learn About Science of Wood Flooring

The Flooring Inspectors Educational Guild of North America will host an educational workshop Sept. 12-15 in Charleston, S.C., that will focus on the science behind wood flooring. These topics will be addressed: moisture movement and relative humidity equilibrium; engineered wood flooring construction; inspection of solid wood flooring; and glue-down problem solving. Several university researchers will assist with instructing the workshop, along with these members of the flooring industry: Howard Brickman, Brickman Consulting; Gregory Wood, founder of Advanced Adhesive Technologies; Mark Brown, a former NOFMA certified inspector; and Steven Tolli, former North American technical director with Wicanders. For more information, e-mail Selva Tucker at [email protected] or call (864) 238-5507. Also, this course qualifies for matching scholarship funds from the World Floor Covering Association.
