Derr Flooring Co. (Willow Grove, Pa.) awarded $8,000 in college scholarships recently to the children of two of its employees as part of its 10th annual Scholastic Excellence Award.
This year's recipients were Christopher Rosado-Ortiz and Nicole Winslow. Rosado-Ortiz is the son of Derr's Maria Rosado, who works in customer service at the company's headquarters. Rosado received $5,000 to attend Northampton Community College. Winslow is the daughter of Robert Winslow, who works at Derr's branch in York, Pa. Winslow received $3,000 to attend Tulsa Community College.
The scholarship program was begun by Chester Derr Jr. and his late sister Gayle Holden.
