After launching last month, the NAHB's Improving Markets Index (IMI) shows that 23 housing markets across the U.S. qualify as "improving." The IMI is a monthly economic index showing which housing markets are improving in the areas of housing permits, employment and housing prices. At the start of the index's launch, 12 areas were deemed "improving."
