Direct Hardwood Floor & Supplies LLC (Ambridge, Pa.) was recently picked as a "Tweet Business of the Day" by Fox Business for its use of Twitter in driving small business. The company, which operates the @directhardwoods feed, joined Twitter in September 2010. "The challenges are mostly people not updating their homes with the [construction] industry being down. We are going after people who have money and are fixing up their houses," Owner Mike Solomich told Fox of its Twitter tactics.
The Washington State Floor Covering Association has scheduled several upcoming events. On Nov. 8 in Seattle the group will hold a dinner meeting titled "Challenge the Sales Experts." It will hold multiple sessions of "Asbestos Awareness Training," including Nov. 10 in Spokane, Wash.; Dec. 12 in Tukwila, Wash.; and Dec. 13 in Bellevue, Wash. And last, the association will hold its Northwest Design Showcase of Interior Solutions on Feb. 29 in Lynnwood, Wash.
