Carson to Lead Mohawk Flooring Business Unit

Mohawk Industries (Calhoun, Ga.) announced Tuesday that Brian Carson will be appointed president of the Mohawk Flooring Business Unit on Jan. 2. The outgoing president, Frank Peters, will continue with the company by leading strategic development activities within the Mohawk Flooring Business Unit.

After a 16-year career at Armstrong World Industries, Carson joined the Mohawk Flooring Business Unit in 2006 as president of hard surfaces; he was later promoted to vice president of operations. In 2011, Carson assumed his current role as COO of the business unit.

Also on Tuesday, Mohawk announced that John "J.T." Turner will be appointed president of its Dal-Tile Business Unit on Jan. 2, as well.

"Brian and J.T. are industry veterans with the institutional knowledge, business acumen and innovative creativity to further the success of our carpet and ceramic businesses," said Jeffrey S. Lorberbaum, chairman and CEO of Mohawk Industries.
