The IFC, a member of World Bank Group, and the World Green Building Council will work together to promote the construction of green building in developing countries. The two groups will formally announce the partnership as part of the "Transforming the Built Environment in Emerging Markets" event on Tuesday, July 16, at 9 a.m. at the IFC office in Washington, D.C.
Speakers Jane Henley of the World Green Building Council, Prasant Kapoor of the IFC, Roger Platt of the U.S. Green Building Council and Marcene D. Broadwater of the IFC will also discuss the business case for green buildings, the IFC's EDGE application for mass market green building design and certification and how green buildings respond to climate change.
