Schönox Accepting Submissions For Second Worst Subfloor Contest

HPS Schönox (Florence, Ala.) started accepting entries for its second annual Worst Subfloor in North America Contest on June 1.

The contest is for flooring companies to show off how they fixed a particularly gnarly subfloor on the job site. Last year’s winner, Pavilion Floors in Woburn, Mass., was rewarded with enough Schönox SL to cover 100,000 square feet of flooring.

To enter this year’s contest, submit a photo of the subfloor condition before and after it was fixed, along with some project information, at hpsubfloors.com/worstsubfloor.

“We want to see the brittle, crumbling, cracked, unstable, rough, uneven, damaged subfloors faced by flooring professionals in the field and how they met those challenges to produce smooth, sound subfloors ready for the highest quality flooring installations,” explained Thomas Trissl, HPS Schönox Principal.

The winning company will receive $7,000 in Schönox dollars and each team member gets a three-night hotel stay, including airfare and a $500 hotel gift card, in Las Vegas. Second place receives $4,000 and each team member gets a Big Green Egg MiniMax BBQ grill.

Entries are accepted through Dec. 11. Winners will be announced at Surfaces 2016 in January.
