I4F Receives Intention-to-Grant Letter for Patent in Europe

Innovations 4 Flooring (Willemstad, Curacao) received an intention-to-grant letter from the European Patent Office for a divisional patent application regarding its 3L TripleLock drop-lock flooring technology.

The technology can be used in hard surface floor coverings, including wood flooring.

The patent application, once approved, will expand I4F’s scope of patent protection in Europe, which will benefit I4F licensees by making it harder for competitors to design around I4F’s patent portfolio, according to a statement from I4F.

The company has patents for its product in 37 countries worldwide.

“We are safeguarding against new or unforeseen situations so that our licensees can concentrate on what they do best—manufacture and sell flawless, easy-to-install, superior flooring,” said John Rietvedlt, CEO, in a statement.
