Armstrong CEO Won’t Continue With Company After Flooring Division Split

Armstrong World Industries (Lancaster, Pa.) CEO Matt Espe will leave the company when it splits its flooring business into a separate company on April 1, according to LancasterOnline.

Espe has been the company’s president and CEO since July 2010.

“I'm proud of the steps we've taken to strengthen the company and to create the foundation for two successful independent entities,” Espe said in a phone conference with investors last week.

The company is dividing into two entities: Armstrong World Industries will focus solely on ceilings, while Armstrong Flooring will deal in floors.

Armstrong World will be led by current ceilings division CEO Vic Grizzle and Armstrong Flooring by current flooring division CEO Don Maier, according to LancasterOnline.
