Goodwin Heart Pine Co. (Micanopy, Fla.) hosted the National Wood Flooring Association’s Retail Sales school at its headquarters on March 11.
Students received an overview of how to sell hardwood floors and help customers make informed flooring decisions for their lifestyle. NWFA members who participated also took a test to become a NWFA Certified Professionals Certified Sales Advisor.
The school was led by NWFA Regional Instructor Roy Reichow (read a profile of him here) of National Wood Floor Consultants Inc. (Cedar, Minn.).
“Roy is very engaging,” said Carol Goodwin, owner, adding that even Gary Smith of Custom Hardwood Floors, a well-educated pro, said he learned a lot.
The students were Brian Maloney, MAPEI Corporation; Dawn Howell and Forbes Jeffrey, Goodwin Heart Pine Company; Tricia Pallak and Christine Costello, The Wood Floor Company; Gary Smith, Custom Hardwood Floors Inc.; Steve Rochowiak, Functional Floors; Loretta Williford and Jack Culpepper, Williford Flooring Company Inc.; Amanda Larkin and Dave Short, Kimal Lumber Company; Dennis Prieur, Through The Woods Fine Wood Floors Inc.; Corey Cathcart, Integrity Floors LLC; and Lucas Volpe and Jennifer Corley, Joe Volpe Custom Floors.
The next Retail Sales school is at NWFA headquarters on March 24. Registration is online and open until the school begins.
