Construction Spending Decreases by a Half Percent in February

Construction spending in February was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1,144.0 billion, 0.5 percent lower than January’s rate of $1,150.1 billion but 10.3 percent higher than in February 2015, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Private construction spending was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $846.2 billion in February, 0.1 percent lower than January’s rate of $847.2 billion.

Residential construction was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $447.9 billion, 0.9 percent higher than the January rate of $443.8 billion.
