Mohawk Industries’ (Dallas) sales during the first quarter 2016 were $2.2 billion, the highest sales for any quarter in the company’s history and an increase of 15.5 percent versus the $1.9 billion in sales recorded during the first quarter of 2015, CEO Jeffrey Lorberbaum said in a statement.

Profits were $177 million in the first quarter of 2016, excluding restructuring, acquisition and other changes, a 41.6 percent increase compared with the $125 million in profits reported during the same period in 2015.
Mohawk’s Flooring North America segment sales in the first quarter of 2016 were up 7 percent year-over-year. The company’s Flooring Rest of World segment’s sales were up 56 percent year-over-year.
The company has also announced a price increase of 6 percent to 10 percent on its hardwood products effective May 15. Mannington Mills and Armstrong Flooring have also announced increases in the past couple weeks.
