Kährs Profits Down 5.8 Percent in Q1 2016

Kährs Group (Malmö, Sweden) had profits of $3.99 million USD in the first quarter of 2016, a 5.8 percent decrease from the company’s profit of $4.24 million in the first quarter of 2015.

Net sales for the first quarter of 2016 were $84.21 million, an increase of 1.1 percent compared with the $83.24 million in sales reported during the same period last year.

“Robust growth in Sweden, the U.S. and in several of the European markets offset the weaker trend in Russia and Finland, as well as for the Group’s resilient flooring,” said Christer Persson, president and CEO, in the company’s full financial statement.

Hardwood flooring accounted for 88 percent of Kährs’ first quarter net sales. Forty-seven percent of the hardwood flooring was sold in the Nordic region, 26 percent was sold in Europe and 20 percent was sold in other markets, including the United States. Kährs’ global resilient sales made up 7 percent of all sales.
