The National Wood Flooring Association and the Gary Sinise Foundation RISE Program completed the fifth smart home for a severely wounded veteran since the organizations partnered in 2015.
The home, dedicated April 21, was built in Munford, Tenn. for Marine Corporal Christian Brown, who has partial amputations on both legs, as well as severe hand and arm injuries he received while in service in Afghanistan.
The floors in Brown’s home were donated by American OEM (Burns, Tenn.).
Photos from the dedication are available on the Gary Sinise Foundation Facebook page.
The NWFA launched its partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation at its Wood Flooring Expo in 2015. Five homes have been completed, six are in various stages of construction and 14 are currently in the land purchasing or planning stages.
