Mullican Flooring is considering an expansion of its Johnson City, Tenn., facility.
The company has reached out to the Washington County Economic Development Council about the potential expansion. Mullican is also looking at site options in Virginia and Kentucky.
A final decision about the location of Mullican’s expansion is expected at the end of June, the station said, and local and state incentives will be a determining factor.
The expansion would mark the fourth growth initiative in Johnson City for Mullican. In 2012, its most recent expansion, the company moved into a larger, state-of-the-art facility on Woodlyn Road in Johnson City, which allowed the company to develop new product lines and bring jobs back to the United States that had previously been offshored.
