Bona US (Englewood, Colo.) broke ground on a new 280,000-square-foot building in Monroe, N.C.

The new building is an addition to an existing facility established in 2006 and is expected to be completed in late summer 2022. The company plans to hire approximately 124 employees to staff the additional facility.

"As our business continues to grow, investing on our current factory site aligns with our core commitment for a sustainable future,” stated Phil Nicolette, senior director of operations and supply chain, site manager—Monroe, Bona. “By bringing our warehouse operations in-house, it supports our company vision to create more efficient operations and increase internal capabilities.”

The new building will also include environmentally conscious elements, including Thermoplastic Polyolefin roofing material made of more sustainable materials, LED lighting and equipment that will operate on lithium batteries.
