FCEF Flooring Installation Program Receives Accreditation

The Floor Covering Education Foundation announced its pilot training program for flooring installation has received accreditation through the college system of Georgia.

The 10-week Basic Flooring Installation program was launched at Georgia Northwestern Technical College Jan. 10. It was developed in partnership with the International Certified Flooring Installers Association, the National Wood Flooring Association and the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation. The pilot program recently graduated eight students, each of whom earned a flooring installation technician certificate.

The accreditation means the program can be implemented nationwide, according to FCEF Director of Operations Kaye Whitener.

“The industry came together to make this happen and it is an achievement 20 years in the making,” stated Don Roberts, chairman of the FCEF board. “The last two years’ efforts from FCEF and the support of the industry have made a huge difference. This is just the beginning.”

The next 10-week program is scheduled to begin May 16. There are still seats and FCEF scholarships available for those interested in attending the program. More information can be found here.
