Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, wood flooring consumption in Europe remained stable in 2020, the European Federation of the Parquet Industry reports.
Austria, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain managed to “totally or partially” compensate for the downturns experienced in March and April 2020.
“Still on the positive side, parquet consumption in Germany, the biggest European parquet market, has grown further, driven by renovation,” FEP stated. [In Europe, “parquet” is used to describe wood flooring in general.]
France and Italy, however, both reported declines in wood flooring, unable to offset the losses experienced during the lockdowns.
