9 24 InstallercompThe National Installer of the Year Installation Competition will return to The International Surface Event, held Jan. 23–25 in Las Vegas, in partnership with International Certified Flooring Installers Association (CFI).

The flooring trade show’s last such competition was held in 2003, and CFI has received requests for its return ever since, according to CFI Executive Director Robert Varden.

“It is an amazing opportunity for installers to highlight their knowledge, their training, and the amazing projects they work on all year behind the scenes,” Varden stated.

The competition’s three categories include wood, carpet and stone/tile. Contestants can submit projects here. The deadline to submit is Oct. 15.

Nine finalists (three from each category) will be selected by a panel of judges by Nov. 15 and will compete live during Surfaces, and the winner will be crowned The National Installer of the Year.

The winner will receive a prize package and “incredible bragging rights in the industry and to their customers,” the press release stated.

Registration to attend Surfaces 2019 can be found here.
