Jon Jackson of Lakeshore Hardwood Flooring in Goderich, Ontario, had a mishap on a job he'll never forget. As he tells it:
"I fell through a manhole-sized hole in the floor that normally had a giant old wrought iron grate covering it. I had worked around it all week while sanding, then I fell in ... while I had an open bucket of Provincial stain in my hand. As I fell through the hole, the stain was tossed across the room. It sprayed wildly across the old heart pine floor and repainted the wall with stain. Luckily my helper wasn't concerned about me and instead was quick with rags to start the cleanup ... while I pulled myself out of the hole. The client was anxious to see the color on the floor, so she was right there watching the whole shitshow. Some drywall on the basement ceiling was damaged in this episode."
