If you work with gym floors, especially ones used for everything from school assemblies to the weekend flea market, you know that black scuff marks are a fact of life. And it isn't only gym floors—the marks can show up on any residential floor, too, if the right (or rather, wrong) shoes happen to walk across the floor. An easy way to get rid of them is to rub them with a tennis ball; it takes the marks right off. Take caution with a high-gloss finish, as it can slightly dull glossy floors, but duller sheens are usually fine (when in doubt, test it in an inconspicuous spot first). To make life easier, the ball can be screwed onto a pole as shown.
