Amorim Revestimentos S.A. (Mozelos, Portugal), a cork flooring manufacturer and wood flooring importer, expanded its board of directors Wednesday with the addition of Jürgen Früchtenicht of Bremen, Germany, according to The Timber Network. Früchtenicht has worked for 32 years in the cork and wood flooring industries, and until 2006 he served as general manager of Amorim Deutschland GmbH, a subsidiary. He currently serves as president of the European Federation of Parquet Importers in Brussels.
The International Wood Products Association's World of Wood Convention starts today in New Orleans; the event is being held at Loews New Orleans. This convention is North America's largest convention dedicated to imported wood products, and close to 300 people are expected to attend.
