Flooring supplier Home Legend LLC (Adairsville, Ga.) has purchased engineered wood flooring manufacturer Baker's Creek Flooring (Jackson, Miss.). The purchase gives Home Legend, which until now imported its engineered wood flooring from China, a domestic manufacturing base for engineered wood flooring.
"This acquisition not only reduces our dependence on foreign supply for engineered hardwood," said Hubbard, "but it also gives us a high-quality, upper-end extension to our existing product line."
Home Legend intends to keep all Baker's Creek employees-including founder B. Shannon Fuller-and expand the manufacturer's Jackson, Miss., plant. Home Legend sells its products to home centers and also operates a dealer-direct division.
In October, Baker's Creek was one of eight U.S. wood flooring manufacturers that formed the preliminary countervailing duties of up to 27.01 percent on engineered wood flooring from China.
