Bolefloor (Amsterdam, Netherlands), which debuted its eponymous industrially manufactured, naturally curved flooring at Domotex Hannover 2011
, is seeking a manufacturing partner to help bring its product stateside. During the opening reception of the National Wood Flooring Association's (NWFA) 26th Annual Wood Flooring Convention and Expo, Bolefloor CEO Rain Eisler said he has received more than 200 dealer inquiries in the U.S. and Canada for his company's product thus far and still receives about 15 per day.
"We have not gotten any negative responses," Eisler said.
Bolefloor needs to be manufactured specific to each job, and this complicates importing it to the U.S. from Europe, Eisler said. Eisler said that it is possible to ship additional product to a job site in Europe if a board was to break during installation, but it is not possible to do likewise for a job site in the U.S. due to logistical lead times. It would take at least five weeks to ship Bolefloor to a U.S. job site, he said.
Eisler noted that he is seeking a partner with a good grasp of regional species preferences; specifically, he is looking for a manufacturing partner with a good source of red oak.
