Every year, the NWFA's Wood Floor of the Year contest brings out the best of the wood flooring industry, and it is a tradition that will continue at the association's 2012 Wood Flooring Expo. To that end, the NWFA is now accepting entries in this year's categories:

- Best Commercial
- Best Restoration
- Best Reclaimed
- Best Manufacturer Factory Finished
- Best Limited Species
- Best CNC/Laser Cut
- Best Extreme Makeover
