The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) on Monday released new International Standards for Factory-Finished Solid Wood Flooring. The new standards provide detailed configuration guidelines and machining tolerances.
The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) on Monday released new International Standards for Factory-Finished Solid Wood Flooring. The new standards provide detailed configuration guidelines and machining tolerances.
The guidelines provide specific criteria for width, match position, tongue thickness, groove width, end match, thickness, overwood and underwood, bevels, moisture content, grading, gloss level, finish adhesion, board length, color match, square footage, crooks, finish warranties, packaging and board identification. The standard was developed through collaboration with numerous NWFA-member companies.
Herwynen Saw Mill Ltd. (Rockwood, Ontario), owner of the Superior Flooring brand, is the first company to be certified under the new standards.
