NWFA members Apex Wood Floors Inc. (Downers Grove, Ill.), Shaw Industries Inc. (Dalton, Ga.), Somerset Wood Products Inc. (Somerset, Ky.) and W•D Flooring (Laona, Wis.) have donated labor and 3,000 square feet of wood flooring to help renovate a four-unit greystone building in Chicago, the NWFA announced recently.
The project was spearheaded by John Lessick, owner of Apex Wood Floors and the NWFA's vice chairman, and EdgeAlliance, a nonprofit leader in supporting individuals and families by providing affordable housing and progressive services to homeless veterans and also to children, women and men who have been impacted by HIV/AIDS. The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs and the nonprofit Designs for Dignity also contributed to the project.
A ribbon cutting event will take place this fall in honor of the project's completion and all those who participated.
