Kansas City, Mo.-based International Certified Flooring Installers Association (CFI) has named Robert Varden executive director.
In his new role Varden, who has more than 30 years of experience in flooring installation, education and research, will bolster awareness of CFI benefits. "Our main objectives are to continue the growth of our membership, promote the value of training, certification and professional flooring installation, and provide our members with increased opportunities in the field," Varden said. "We want to ensure that CFI is well-supported as we move into the future. I am looking forward to building on the great foundation that has been developed over the past 20 years."
Varden lives in Rockwall, Texas, and is immediate past president of CFI, having served two terms. He is a CFI Master-II Installer, past chairman of the CFI's Certification Committee and a member of the association's Certification Team. Varden is also a member of the World Floor Covering Association.
