Nick Lux of D-Lux Hardwood Floors won the National Wood Flooring Association's Nailed It! Nailing Contest held on April 3-4 at the 2013 Wood Flooring Expo. Lux hit 20 out of 21 marks in 30 seconds. He was awarded the Nailed It! trophy, a Primatech nailer valued at $600 and a $165 Powernail palm nailer.
Joshua Crossman of PTL Hardwoods came in a very close second, hitting 20 marks in 31 seconds. He won a Stanley-Bostitch 200 PSI 4.5 gallon, oil-free portable compressor valued at $400.
In third place, David Nguyen hit 20 marks in 33 seconds, winning a set of kneepads from Beno J. Gundlack Company and a case of Powernail cleats.
Neophyte nailer Ellen McDermott with McDermott Flooring earned the title of slowest nailer. In her first attempt ever at nailing a wood floor, McDermott hit 19 marks in two minutes. She won an Easy Groove nail setter.
