Designer Hardwood Flooring CNY Inc., a new engineered flooring company in Oswego, N.Y., will receive the perks of the Start-Up NY Program, which means the company can operate without paying state income and local taxes for a decade.
The company will start with an initial employee roster of 19, but could employ as many as 50 people as sales increase and new production lines are added over the next few years, the executive director of Oswego’s economic development agency told Syracuse.com.
Designer Hardwood Flooring products will be sold through big-box retailers.
The company will be housed in an 18,000-square-foot space inside a 60,000-square-foot building owned by the Oswego County Industrial Development Agency. It will receive a $125,000 state grant, and is also investing $495,000 of its own money in the facility, according to the newspaper.
As part of the Start-Up NY program, Designer Hardwood Flooring will partner with SUNY Oswego and hire SUNY Oswego students as interns.
