Gilford-Johnson Flooring LLC (Jeffersonville, Ind.) appointed Scott Roy as its president and CEO, effective Feb. 15.
Roy was most recently with J.J. Haines & Company for 11 years, where he was promoted from vice president of sales to senior vice president of Armstrong sales and marketing and customer service.
“We are excited to have Scott come aboard and lead Gilford- Johnson. With his experience in flooring distribution and his passion for the business, we will further our strategy to expand the business with acquisitions, new partners, and new product lines to become one of the leading distributors in the nation,” said Jonathan Blue, chairman and managing director of Blue Equity, the majority shareholder of Gilford-Johnson.
Roy takes over the CEO role from Dennis Cook. Cook has been the CEO of Gilford-Johnson Flooring since January, when the company formed in the merger of Gilford Flooring and Johnson Wholesale Floors. Prior to that, Cook was with Gilford Flooring.
Cook will retire from the daily functions of the CEO position at the end of March. He will assist Roy during the transition.
