MAPEI (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) and the National Tile Contractors Association have announced a partnership to support the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment) program, which provides custom smart homes for severely wounded veterans. MAPEI and NTCA will provide tile and tile installation systems for the homes.
The impetus for their participation began at the 2015 NWFA Wood Flooring Expo, where the National Wood Flooring Association announced its involvement with GSF and Academy Award-nominated actor Gary Sinise spoke about the work his foundation does to support wounded veterans.
“The NWFA started the ball rolling on a meaningful contribution our industry associations can make to the health and independence of our returning veterans who have been severely injured,” said NTCA Executive Director Bart Bettiga in a statement. “The NTCA, with contributions of tile from various tile manufacturers and installation materials from MAPEI, is proud to strengthen this contribution as a way of telling our veterans how proud we are of them.”
More information about the R.I.S.E. program can be found on the GSF website. Tile contractors interested in participating can contact Bart Bettiga of the NTCA at (601) 939-2071 or [email protected]. Wood flooring professionals interested in participating can contact the NWFA at (800) 422-4556 or [email protected].
