3M (Saint Paul, Minn.) is expanding its parental leave benefits starting Jan. 1, 2017. Time off is extended to both biological and adoptive parents for 20 weeks, 10 of which will be paid. “We want our people to know that they can thrive at work and at home,” said Marlene McGrath, 3M senior vice president of human resources, in a statement.
Latvia’s national forest certification system received re-endorsement from the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. More than half of Latvia’s forests—1.6 million hectares—have achieved PEFC certification since the country’s system was first endorsed in 2001, according to the PEFC.
