Carpets Direct (Walton, Ky.) won HPS Schönox’s (Florence, Al.) Worst Subfloor Contest.

Carpets Direct took first place for a renovation project in a 70-year-old building with multiple subfloor challenges. Sprague Floor Covering (Dover, N.H.) took second place with a project that had significant moisture issues. Third place went to Greer’s Flooring American (Evansville, Ind.) for a project that entailed fixing loose quarry tile, lightweight concrete and trenches.

The winners will receive Schönox dollars based on the severity of the subfloor condition. Three installation team members from each winning entry also received prizes, including weekend trips to Las Vegas, DeWalt tools and Yeti coolers.
