3M (Saint Paul, Minn.) received the Catalyst Award, which recognizes companies that champion the advancement of women in the workplace.
3M currently has an initiative called “I’m in. Advancing Women’s Leadership,” that includes a formal leadership development program, a global network of 78 women’s leadership chapters and 3M FlexAbility arrangements to support a flexible workplace culture. On March 8, in recognition of International Women’s Day, 3M’s Women’s Leadership Forum hosted a series of events throughout the day.
“Diversity is a competitive weapon for 3M as it spurs new ideas and fresh perspectives, which powers our creativity,” said President and CEO Inge Thulin in a statement. “From appointing women to top leadership positions to our new expanded parental leave benefits, we are creating an even more diverse and inclusive culture where women and men have an equal opportunity to grow, succeed and advance in our enterprise.”
