Employees from Horizon Forest Products (Raleigh, N.C.) recently took to the bowling alley to raise money for a program geared toward enriching the lives of autistic students at a local high school.
The event, the second annual T&T Bowl-a-Thon, raised $3,000 dollars and donated four new iPads, which are used to help the students communicate, to the program at Rolesville High School. The funds will help the program teach important life skills to the students, such as grocery shopping, Sarah Gamsey, the classroom teacher, said in a statement.
The event hosts, T&T Creative Group, hope to expand the Bowl-a-Thon to assist all schools in Wake and Johnson Counties.
“We were delighted to meet … the students from Rolesville High School,” said Holly Williams, marketing team leader, in a statement. “Community involvement is an important part of our mission at Horizon Forest Products, so we were pleased to have the opportunity to support a program that makes a difference in so many lives.”
