Ecore International (Lancaster, Pa.) gave a donation to the American Red Cross immediately after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, and it also launched a companywide effort to boost the company’s support for victims.
It kicked off an internal donation drive in September for employees to contribute essential personal and household supplies, as well as non-perishable food items. Employees dropped the items off at the company’s Lancaster, York and Centerville, Pa., locations, and from there the items were sent to the Church of Champions, a church in Houston.
“We immediately made a financial donation on behalf of the company to the American Red Cross, but we wanted to find a way for employees to contribute as well,” said Arthur Dodge III, CEO and president of Ecore, in a statement. “One of our employees informed us about a relief effort being coordinated by a family member’s church in Houston, and we knew we had found our outlet.”
